Zeus and Shame
Long ago Zeus made the first people. He gave them fine feelings and good habits. People were full of love, joy and courage. But Zeus forgot one small feeling. This forgotten feeling was little Shame.
Shame stayed alone at the door, very sad. Zeus saw his mistake and called little Shame. He told her to go into people quietly. Shame thought about it and gave one rule. "If people do wrong, I leave," she said.
Zeus liked this good rule and accepted it. From that day Shame lived in human hearts. After a mistake, Shame made their faces red. Good people always carry shame in their hearts. Where there is no shame, there is no honour.
