Zeus and Man
Long ago Zeus made a big, beautiful world. This world had forests, rivers and bright flowers. Zeus shaped the animals and man from soft clay. All creatures began life in this new world.
Zeus gave animals strong wings, sharp teeth and fur. The small man felt very weak and alone. Man had no warm fur and no fast feet.
So the sad man went to the god Zeus. "Why did you give me no power?" he asked. Zeus smiled and gave man a very special gift. He gave a thinking mind and a loving heart.
With his mind, man made fire and fine houses. The animals were amazed by his mind and power. True power is not muscle, but mind and knowledge.
Wisdom is better than strength.
