War and Arrogance
While walking on a narrow mountain path, the god of war saw a strange object the size of an apple on the ground. With anger he struck that object with the heavy stick in his hand; however, instead of shrinking, the object grew twice as big. Astonished, as the god of war brought down his stick repeatedly with greater anger, the object turned into a giant rock completely blocking the road. A wise spirit appearing just then said "O powerful god! Stop striking it; that object you saw is Arrogance and Strife; if left alone it would stay small, but as you struck with anger it grew."
Disputes, fights, and seeds of strife get out of control and turn into giant disasters as they are pursued with anger and stubbornness. Staying silent and ignoring is the most effective way to extinguish strife. Enmities fed with anger turn in time into impassable rocks blocking the road. Approaching with calmness rather than escalating the dispute is wisdom.
Dispute and strife grow as they are fed with anger. Anger enlarges strife. Silence extinguishes enmity. A trouble struck stubbornly becomes giant.
Calmness is the greatest medicine. Strife is not responded to with anger. A smart person does not escalate dispute.
