Town Mouse and Country Mouse
A humble country mouse hosted his friend living in the city in his nest in the field with wheat and barley. The city mouse did not like the simple food here and said "Come to the city with me, there you will live in palaces with bird's milk and cheeses." The country mouse accepted the offer and went to the city; they started eating at a luxury banquet table. However, just as they set to eat, servants and giant cats burst into the room forcing them to run into holes repeatedly.
Trembling with fear, the country mouse said "Keep your luxury food to yourself; I prefer eating my wheat in peace to dangerous banquets" and returned to his field. A luxury life led in constant danger, fear, and anxiety is far below a peaceful simple life. Restless wealth and showy banquets keep a person in constant tension. Peace of mind and security are the sweetest blessing.
Peaceful modesty is better than luxury in fear. A dangerous banquet does not give peace. Simple life is the source of peace. Fearful wealth brings burden.
Peace is the greatest wealth. Simple food with a carefree head. Living in security is wealth.
