The Young Man and the Old Woman
A poor but ambitious young man married a rich but old woman just to get hold of her wealth. The old woman had all the mirrors in the house removed and her graying hair dyed black to keep her young husband. However, the young man saw that no dye could hide the deep wrinkles on the woman's face and her old age, and repented. The young man gained money, but could never find the youth joy and peace he sought in his home.
Marriages and partnerships established purely for interest, money, and worldly ambition do not give a person sincere happiness and peace. Relationships where true love and sincerity are lacking create a spiritual void even if material gains are achieved. Trying to change the flow of nature and time with artificial makeup is an empty effort. Peace is not in interest, but in heart sincerity.
Marriages made for interest do not bring sincerity and peace. A bond established for interest does not give peace. Money cannot take the place of sincere happiness. Artificial intervention cannot stop time.
Insincere marriage brings regret. Spiritual void does not fill with money. Heart sincerity is the greatest wealth.
