The Wolf and the Donkey in Court
Once upon a time, at the edge of an old forest where cool waters flowed, lived a cute donkey. This donkey ate fresh grass all day long and lived in serenity without harming anyone. In the depths of the forest, wandered a treacherous wolf known for his greed and cunning. The wolf envied the innocent donkey's peaceful life and sought an opportunity to harm him. As the golden yellow lights of the sun illuminated the meadow, a quiet tension was rising at the edge of the forest. One morning, the wolf made a big noise, claiming he lost the prey he hid in his den.
The greedy wolf approached the innocent donkey and began accusing him of theft. The donkey was stunned by this unexpected slander and calmly said he was innocent. Blinded by rage, the wolf offered to go to the forest court to resolve the matter. The cunning fox, the wisest animal in the forest, was chosen as judge because he was known for making fair decisions. The wolf put on a great theatrical act before the assembly, asserting that the donkey stole his winter food. "Mr. Judge, this quiet-looking donkey secretly entered my den last night and stole my prey," he said.
The donkey kept his head high and made his defense with a confident tone of voice. "I have eaten only fresh grass all my life, I have nothing to do with meat," he added. The fox judge, after listening carefully to the parties, asked the wolf questions about the details of the event. Fearing that his lie would be revealed, the wolf began giving contradictory statements in confusion. The fox ordered the guards to be sent to the wolf's den to conduct a detailed search.
Shortly after, the guards found the meat claimed to be missing under the wolf's own bed. Upon understanding the truth, the fox decided on the donkey's acquittal and the wolf's banishment from the forest.
