The Virtues and the Evils
Long ago, in a magnificent castle on the shores of blue seas, there lived virtues. Love, joy, and peace danced every day in the garden of this beautiful castle. However, these gentle virtues were very sensitive and weak.
One day, from the dark forest, there came a strong and harsh Evil. Evil entered the bright garden and made a terrible sound that drove all the virtues away. Trembling with fear, the virtues immediately flew up toward the high sky. Taking refuge in the wise kingdom of the sky, they shed tears. "Evil is on the earth, how shall we help humans now?" they asked.
The clever sage of the sky smiled and looked at them with compassion. "Evil attacks humans all at once and quickly," said the sage. "You, however, should not go to humans together, but one by one," he added. The virtues loved this smart idea and hope filled their hearts.
From that day on, the virtues decided to descend to earth one by one. While Evil found humans immediately, the virtues came quietly and individually. First a small smile, then a sweet gift found the humans. When humans waited patiently, every good thing entered their lives in turn. Thus, the earth once again turned into a peaceful and hopeful place. Good things come late, but they always bring great happiness to your heart. Good deed brings good return. Good deed brings good return.
