The Viper and the Fox

A clever fox walked by the river. It was warm and the river was fast. The fox saw a big thorn pile. A dangerous viper sat on the thorns.

The snake stood there without any fear. The sharp thorns did not hurt the snake. The fast water carried the pile forward. The fox watched this from the river bank.

The fox came near and watched the snake. The clever fox laughed and called to it. Bad ship, bad captain, said the fox. The angry viper could not leave the water. Bad people always find their own bad things. Birds of a feather flock together.
