The Trustee and the God of Oaths
Long ago a small town stood by cool waters and old woods. In this pretty town everyone trusted each other and lived in peace. One day the rich merchant gave his friend a gold purse. This friend looked honest and hid the gold in his house. The merchant went on a long journey and left his gold there. Months later the rich merchant came back and visited his friend.
"I want my gold purse back now," he said. But the greedy man did not give it back, and he lied. "You never gave me any gold," he said to his old friend. The two men argued and went to the Temple of Oaths. The greedy man wanted to lie before the God of Oaths. The selfish man shouted loudly, "I did not take the gold!"
Suddenly dark shadows filled the temple and a strong wind blew. The angry God of Oaths appeared and taught the liar about truth. The god punished the liar and returned the gold to its owner. The greedy man understood his big mistake, but it was too late. After that day the people saw the power of justice again. The man who breaks a trust falls into his own trap. Truth will always come to light.
