The Travellers and the Crow

Long ago, a long dusty road ran beyond the green valleys. Two friends walked along that road and sang happy songs. The sun shone brightly, and a soft wind cooled their faces. The travellers left early for a big market in a far town. Their journey was pleasant, and the birds sang beside them.

After a while, they saw a black crow on an old tree. The crow closed one eye and began to call out loudly. One traveller stopped in fear and held his friend's arm. "This crow brings us bad news," he whispered. "We must go back, or something bad will happen," he said.

The other friend looked calmly at the crow and smiled. "Do not be afraid, friend, it is only a little bird," he answered. The clever traveller showed his friend the crow's hurt eye. "Look, this poor crow cannot even protect its own eye," he said. "How can it know our future, when it does not know its own?" he asked.

The frightened traveller heard these words, felt calm and believed him. They walked on happily and reached the town safely in the evening. Empty fears keep people away from beautiful journeys. Remember, fear is no shield against fate.
