The Thief and the Innkeeper
Once upon a time, at the edge of an ancient forest where cool waters flowed, there was a small inn. The cheerful and hardworking innkeeper of this inn always served delicious soups to his guests. On a sunny afternoon, a cunning thief came to stay at this charming inn. The thief's eye caught the new and expensive coat with silk embroidery on the innkeeper. A cunning plan immediately came to his mind to get hold of this beautiful coat.
The thief sat on a wooden chair in front of the inn door and began to wait. When the innkeeper came near him, the thief began to yawn and howl exaggeratedly. In surprise, the innkeeper asked, "Why are you making such strange noises, my friend?" Taking a deep sigh, the cunning thief answered in a frightening tone of voice. "There is a very dangerous and enchanting curse on me," said the thief. "When I yawn three times in a row, I turn into a wild wolf," he added. "So far I have yawned twice, and the third one is about to come," he said.
When the thief yawned again and howled like a wolf, the innkeeper's heart filled with fear. Terrified, the innkeeper immediately began to run inside to save his life. As he ran, he did not even realize he dropped the valuable coat on the ground. The cunning thief immediately picked up the coat from the ground and disappeared into the depths of the forest with quick steps. When the innkeeper locked the door and looked outside, he could see neither the wolf nor his valuable coat. Realizing he was deceived, the innkeeper deeply regretted believing every word naively.
People who easily fall for false words quickly lose the valuable things in their hands. A liar's candle burns only until bedtime.
