The Talkativeness of Man

Once upon a time, at the edge of an old forest where cool waters flowed, there was a charming village. In this village lived a traveler who thought he knew everything and talked without stopping. The man babbled incessantly from the moment the sun rose in the morning until night. The quiet trees and cheerful birds in the forest grew very tired of his endless voice. One day, this talkative man decided to walk on a mysterious path deep in the forest.

During his journey, he told long stories to every flower and stone he came across. A wise owl sitting on the branch of a huge oak tree was watching him carefully. Seeing the owl, the talkative man stopped immediately and began to shout loudly. "O wise bird, I know every secret in the world and tell everyone!" he said. The wise owl calmly blinked its eyes and whispered softly toward the man. "If you talk constantly, how will you hear the sweet songs the forest has to tell you?" it asked.

The man did not listen to these wise words at all and kept talking without stopping. He talked so much that he failed to notice the deep mud pit in front of him. With a loud noise, he fell into the mud and was bewildered at what happened to him. Because his mouth was filled with mud, he finally had to remain silent. The wise owl flew from its branch and perched on the stone next to the man.

"Did you see, talking unnecessarily brings a person only harm and regret," it said. The talkative man realized his mistake, stood up in shame, and returned quietly to his village. Sometimes the greatest wisdom is to listen quietly to the sounds around us instead of talking. Silence is golden.
