The Tail and Body of the Snake
One day the tail of a snake rebelled against the head saying "You always go in front, let me guide the way for a while." Although the snake's head said "You have no eyes and mind, you cannot see the way," the tail insisted and began crawling. When the blind and incompetent tail seized leadership, it drove the snake into sharp rocks, thorny bushes, and a deep cliff. When the whole body was bruised and ruined at the bottom of the cliff, the tail understood its mistake, but it was too late.
Incompetent people without knowledge and experience taking up leadership drag the community they belong to into disaster and ruin. Ships and structures guided by those without eyes and minds are condemned to sink. It is the basis of order for every organ and every individual to know their duty and not exceed their bounds. Leadership requires competency and merit, not mere ambition.
Leadership of the incompetent and sightless brings disaster. A blind guide leads to a cliff. Without merit there is no leadership. Ambition exceeding bounds brings ruin.
One without eyes cannot show the way. Mind and merit are the foundation of order. Leadership of the ignorant ruins.
