The Stag and the Lion in a Cave
Long ago a beautiful stag lived in a big green forest. Every day the stag walked freely in the forest and ate fresh grass.
One day dangerous hunters came to this forest. The hunters saw the stag and ran quickly after him. The stag was very afraid and ran away through the forest.
Beside the path he saw a big dark cave. He thought: "This cave will surely protect me from the hunters." The stag went into the cave at once and hid there.
But deep inside the cave a huge lion was sleeping. The wild lion heard the stag and stood up at once. The stag ran from a small danger and found a bigger one. The poor stag understood his mistake, but it was too late. A hasty escape can carry us into a much greater disaster.
Out of the frying pan into the fire.
