The Spider and the Lizard
Long ago, a small spider lived by the edge of a green forest where cool waters flowed. Every day, this spider patiently wove colorful webs and worked silently. The spider's neighbor was a fast and somewhat cunning lizard. The lizard loved running quickly over sunny rocks and boasting about himself. Every morning, he would come to the spider and mock his slow movements.
One day, the lizard climbed onto a high rock and shouted cheerfully. "You spend all day here just making a small web!" he said. "Look how fast I am and how I can roam everywhere easily!" he added. The wise spider smiled and patiently continued weaving his web. "Speed is important, but being careful is much more useful," said the spider.
The lizard paid no attention to the spider's words and suddenly jumped down from the rock. But while running fast, he got stuck in a large bush. No matter how hard the lizard tried, he could not free himself from there. Left helpless, the lizard had to ask his neighbor, the spider, for help.
The slow and careful spider immediately came to his neighbor and pulled him out with his strong thread. When the lizard was saved, he realized his mistake and felt very ashamed. After that day, the small lizard never looked down on anyone again. True strength lay not in being fast, but in being patient and helpful. Haste makes waste.
