The Shepherd Who Lost a Calf
A shepherd grazes his flock on a green mountain meadow. Suddenly the small calf is not in the flock. The shepherd looks for the calf in the forest. He looks between the bushes and behind the rocks. But he does not find the calf anywhere. Sadly he opens his hands to the sky and prays. "If I find the thief, I will sacrifice a goat for you," he says.
The shepherd walks deeper into the forest. Behind the thick trees he comes to an open place. There a huge lion is eating the small calf. The lion roars loudly and looks at the shepherd. The shepherd shakes with fear.
In panic the shepherd steps back slowly. "Oh my god, a moment ago I promised a goat for the thief," he says. "Save me from this lion now, and I will sacrifice a big bull for you!" he shouts. The shepherd runs down the mountain and does not look back. He escapes with his life.
Wishes without thinking bring big dangers.
Man proposes, God disposes.
