The Sheep Fears for Its Life, the Butcher for His Profit
Once upon a time, at the edge of an old forest where cool waters flowed, lived a cheerful shepherd. The shepherd's white-furred, cute, and curly lamb played and ran enthusiastically in the lush green meadows all day. The little lamb loved his owner very much, roaming peacefully in the countryside with the melodies from his pipe. However, one day a gloomy, burly, and sharp-eyed stranger butcher arrived in the village. The butcher looked at the fattest lamb in the flock for a long time and pulled out the pouch of gold in his pocket.
Seeing the money extended by the butcher, the shepherd handed over the lamb's rope without hesitation. The butcher grabbed the lamb with a rough move and began to pull hard on his halter. The cute lamb immediately sensed the strangeness of the situation and pulled back in fear. As the butcher tried to drag him, the lamb began to bleat painfully and dig his feet into the ground. He raised heaven and earth, shouting at the top of his voice and crying out for help. Surprised by this aggressiveness of the lamb, the shepherd stood beside the butcher and couldn't help smiling.
"When I sheared you, you didn't make a sound, why are you making such a fuss now?" he asked. The butcher also laughed and said, "We are just making a short trip, why these screams?" In tears, the lamb shook his head from side to side and looked fearlessly at the butcher. "When my shepherd caught me, he would only cut my soft wool or milk me," he shouted. "However, I can clearly see the sharp knife in your hand and the intention in your eyes," said the lamb.
"The shepherd only took my wool from me, but you are trying to take my sweet life." Hearing these words, the shepherd realized his mistake and immediately gave the money back to the butcher. Realizing he was saved, the lamb ran joyfully to the shepherd and hugged him tightly. If a person thinks only of their own interest without understanding that someone else is in danger, they fall into a great delusion. The sheep is for its life, the butcher for its fat.
