The Sailor and His Son
In a charming fisherman's town by the blue sea, an experienced sailor lived with his son. This old sailor had spent most of his life steering huge ships upon the foamy waves. His young son listened to the mysterious world of the seas with great curiosity and a little fear. In the evenings, they sat in their wooden hut at the harbor, chatting while listening to the sound of storms. His father's love for the sea awakened both courage and deep questions in the child's heart.
One evening while the wind blew fiercely, the little boy approached his father and asked curiously. "Father, did my grandfather and great-grandfather lose their lives in severe storms at sea?" The old sailor smiled, nodded his head, and affectionately stroked his son's hair. "Yes my son, all of them fell into an eternal sleep in the bosom of the vast seas," he said. Looking at his father with anxious eyes, the child asked, "So, are you not afraid of the sea at all?" The wise sailor took a deep breath and posed a thoughtful question to his son. "Well then, where did your friend's father and grandfather close their eyes to life?"
The little boy thought for a moment and answered, "They died in their warm beds." Looking at his son with a wise gleam in his eyes, the old sailor smiled softly. "So then, is your friend afraid of going to bed every night, my son?" he asked. The little boy paused at these words and grasped a deep reality. He clearly understood that fear lies not in a place, but within a person's own mind. Now he began to listen to the sound of fierce waves not with fear, but with his father's brave heart.
True courage is not running away from danger, but fearlessly embracing the responsibilities brought by life. Fear is of no use to fate.
