The Rule of the Lion King
Once upon a time, there was a magnificent kingdom at the edge of an old forest where cool waters flowed. The great Lion, the king of the forests who lived in this kingdom, was a strong ruler known for his just government. The colourful birds that glided in the shade of the tall trees turned this place into an enchanting paradise. But the weak animals in the forest were always afraid of the big hunters and lived in hiding. King Lion decided to proclaim new laws to the whole country in order to end this anxious situation. On a morning when the sun shone brightly, all the creatures of the forest gathered in front of the great rock. King Lion climbed onto the high stone and announced his order with his deep and impressive voice.
“From now on, complete peace, justice and equality will rule in our forest,” he roared. “The wolf and the sheep will walk side by side, the leopard and the rabbit will drink water from the same stream.” The strong hunters accepted this firm order with great respect and bowed their heads. Just then a little rabbit came forward from among the crowd and began to speak with excitement. “My great King, all my life I have only dreamed of this beautiful moment,” he said. “From now on the weak will be able to live without fear beside the strong and will find peace.” All the small animals celebrated this immense decision with enthusiasm, shouting for joy.
Days passed and the wide forest turned into a peaceful place where everyone lived in friendship. The sheep and the wolves began to drink water joyfully from the same cool spring. The strong animals learned to protect their weak neighbours and to treat them with justice. Joy, trust and an unshakable air of friendship spread to every corner of the forest. The lovable rabbit also ran freely among the fresh grass and enjoyed life. Wherever justice is provided, fear disappears and true peace begins. Where there is unity, there is peace.
