The Ram and His Bald Master
Once upon a time, in a green valley where cool waters flowed, there lived an old and bald master. This wise man had a loyal ram with thick fleece and curved horns, proud of its majesty. As the sun slipped behind the mountains, the master and the ram wandered peacefully through the velvet meadows, listening to the whisper of the wind. But the cunning thief of the neighbouring village was waiting for a chance to seize this magnificent animal. One evening, as twilight was falling, the cunning man took advantage of the master's distraction and secretly stole the ram from the barn. Fleeing towards the depths of the forest, the thief gripped the ram's rope tightly and let out cries of victory. The clever ram, meanwhile, had already begun to miss the gleam on his owner's bald head and his merciful voice.
Suddenly the ram stopped, shook its mighty horns and threw a harsh look at the cunning thief. "Do you think you can part me from my master, you foolish man?" roared the proud animal. The thief froze in astonishment and stepped back, saying, "How can an animal speak like a human?" Using its sharp wit, the ram decided to play an unforgettable trick on the thief. "If you do not set me free at once, the hidden magic in my horns will turn every garment on you to stone!" it said. The man, trembling with fear, dropped the rope from his hand at once, dreading the enchantment. Just at that moment the bald master, following the tracks, appeared among the trees with his lantern in his hand.
Seeing his master's shining head, the ram bleated with joy and ran towards his friend. The bald master embraced his loyal friend and tenderly stroked his silky wool. The cunning thief, realizing he had been tricked, fled into the dark forest in shame and fear. The master and the clever ram returned joyfully to their home along the path lit by the moonlight. From that day on, no malicious person dared to break the unshakable bond of these two friends. Everyone in the valley told this unique tale of friendship, where wit and loyalty joined, with admiration for years. When wisdom and loyalty come together, even the most cunning traps come to nothing. He who sows the wind reaps the storm.
