The Ostrich
Once upon a time, a cunning ostrich lived on a wide plain where golden yellow sands stretched out. This ostrich attracted the attention of all other animals with its colorful feathers and long legs. However, it did not like working at all, and whenever it saw a tough job, it immediately sought a way to get away. The animals in the region gathered at the beginning of each season to make preparations for winter food. Birds gathered fruit from the heights, while land animals carried heavy loads.
One day, a wise eagle came to it and asked for its help to gather fruit from high trees. Pressing its long legs onto the ground, the ostrich said, "I am not a bird, I am a huge camel." The eagle was surprised by this answer and flew away into the sky with the other birds. A little later, a strong camel came by and asked it to help carry heavy sacks. Flapping its wings this time, the cunning ostrich said, "I cannot carry loads because I am a bird." The camel got very angry at its excuses and walked away alone.
The ostrich rejoiced to itself, thinking it had fooled everyone to avoid doing work. When evening came, the animals set a large table and began eating the delicious food they had gathered. Getting hungry, the ostrich approached the table with joy and asked for a plate of food for itself. However, looking at it, the animals said, "You neither carried loads nor gathered fruit." They politely told it that someone who dodged responsibility had no place at this beautiful table. Being lazy all day, the cunning ostrich lowered its head in shame and departed from there.
Those who act as it suits them and dodge responsibility are bound to end up alone. No pain, no gain.
