The Old Lion and the Fox
Long ago an old lion lived in a forest. The old lion was too weak to hunt. So he made a plan and entered his cave. He said, "I am very sick." The small forest animals wanted to visit the lion.
The animals entered the dark cave one by one. But the old lion ate every animal inside. One day a sly fox came to the cave. The fox stopped at the door and looked inside. The lion saw the fox and called him inside.
The fox looked at the footprints and stayed outside. Many footprints went in but none came out. The clever fox saw the danger and ran away. The mistakes of others teach us and protect us. Once bitten, twice shy.
