The Mysterious Inheritance
Once upon a time, a wise merchant lived in an old town where cool waters flowed. This old man had three young sons who did not resemble one another at all. In the last days of his life, the clever merchant decided to leave a mysterious inheritance to his sons. The most respected judge of the town read the will before everyone after the old man's death. While the eldest and the middle son waited impatiently for shining gold, the youngest son listened with curiosity. According to the will, wide fields were left to the eldest son, and the biggest shop of the city to the middle son.
To the youngest son, Cemal, only an old carved wooden box was given. His elder brothers laughed out loud at this situation and thought that their brother had been left without a share. The eldest brother said with pride, “Only a worthless piece of wood has fallen to your lot.” Without being sad at all, Cemal slowly opened the lid of the heavy box. Inside the box, instead of sparkling jewels, there were only an old key and a note. On the note it was written, “The real treasure is not the one seen with the eye, but the one solved with the mind.”
The elder brothers could not agree on the sharing of the gold and soon fell into a quarrel. Cemal, on the other hand, calmly noticed that the key opened the secret library under the house. Behind the door the little brother found the priceless treasure of knowledge that their father had hidden for years. Thanks to these wise books he became the most just and respected person of the town. His elder brothers, who consumed their goods with greed, had to take shelter beside their brother in despair. Cemal solved the real mystery in his father's will and gathered his family together in unity again. Real wealth is born not from gold that runs out, but from mind and knowledge that never run out. The mind is the greatest capital a person has.
