The Mouse and the Blacksmiths
A hungry mouse entered a blacksmith shop where high hammer sounds rose while searching for food. Seeing hot iron pieces scattering sparks around the anvil, the mouse thought they were food and began gnawing them. Enthusiastically biting the hard and cold iron, the mouse's sharp teeth broke one by one and his mouth was left in blood. Laughing at the mouse's state, the blacksmiths said "If you attempt to bite things too hard for you to damage, you will lose your own teeth."
Those who stubbornly attempt to fight hard and unbreakable obstacles exceeding their own power only harm themselves. Bumping into hard rocks and unbendable structures without knowing one's place leads a person to destruction. Acting flexibly and retreating against forces that cannot be harmed is the requirement of logic. Useless stubbornness and ignorance cripple a person by their own hands.
Whoever forces hard objects breaks their own teeth. Do not force what you cannot harm. One who does not know their place harms themselves. Bumping into hard rock breaks teeth.
Ignorance and stubbornness bring destruction. Do not fight an obstacle exceeding your strength. Flexibility and reason protect a person.
