The Monkey and the Fox
A little monkey lived in a beautiful forest. This monkey had no tail, and his bottom was bare. In the forest the monkey saw a fine fox. The fox had a very long and furry tail.
The monkey was very jealous of that big, beautiful tail. He went to the fox at once and wanted to talk. The monkey said, "Your tail is very long and heavy." "Give me a piece of it, and I will cover my bottom."
The fox heard this strange wish and was very surprised. The fox laughed at the monkey and did not want to help. "Even in the mud, I will not give you a piece," he said.
The fox went away, and the monkey stayed alone. The monkey saw his mistake and felt ashamed. Everyone must be happy with his own things.
The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence.
