The Middle-Aged Man and the Two Women
A middle-aged man lives in a pretty town. Two different women love this man. One is young and merry, the other old and wise. Both women want their own way.
The young woman wants him young and fresh. So she pulls out his white hairs, one by one. The old woman wants him serious and mature. So she pulls out his black hairs without pity.
The poor man tries to please both women. He never says "No" and stays quiet. One morning he looks in the mirror. Not a single hair stays on his head.
He who wants to please everyone ends up with nothing.
