The Man Fond of His Daughter
A father had two daughters; one married a farmer, and the other married a potter. The father went to the house of his first daughter, the farmer; his daughter said "Father, pray for rain night and day so our crops do not dry up." The father then went to the house of his potter daughter; that daughter said "Father, pray for the weather to remain constantly sunny so our pots dry up." The helpless father caught between two opposite desires said "One of you wants rain, the other wants sun; I am confused which daughter to pray for."
