The Little Fish Escaping the Net
Long ago, in the depths of the deep blue seas, large and small fish swimming together were caught in a net. The fishermen began pulling the heavy net up from the sea. Because the meshes of the net were wide, the small fish immediately slipped through the gaps and gained their freedom. The large and grand fish, however, could not pass through the wide meshes and got trapped inside the net.
The small fish swimming freely danced with joy because they had escaped the danger. The large fish caught in the net experienced the sadness of being captured. In life, being small and humble sometimes allows one to easily slip away from great disasters. Being grand and large brings more responsibility and danger in difficult times. Small things escape big dangers more easily.
Humility brings freedom. Being small is sometimes the biggest advantage. A big net cannot hold a small fish. Showiness attracts danger. A modest life is safe.
He who stays small stays away from danger. The net misses the small fish. Sometimes being small saves lives. Simplicity is freedom. He who is content with little is protected from danger.
