The Lioness and the Vixen
Long ago, a big calm forest lay beyond green valleys. A strong lioness lived there with her sweet little cub. The lioness loved her cub and raised him with care. All the animals respected her and spoke to her kindly.
One day a clever fox came to the lioness. The fox proudly began to talk about her big family. "Every year I have five or six lovely cubs," she said. Then she looked at the single cub and laughed mockingly. "Why do you have only one baby?" she asked. "Can you not raise more cubs?" she added.
The lioness listened calmly and did not get angry. The strong mother held her head high and smiled. "Yes, I have only one cub," she said. "But my cub is no ordinary animal, he is a lion," she answered. The fox felt very ashamed and found no words. She quietly walked away into the deep forest.
What matters is not the number, but the worth.
Quality, not quantity.
