The Lion and the Wild Boar
On a scorching summer day, a lion and a wild boar came to a small spring at the same time to drink water. Both claimed that they should drink water first, attacking each other furiously and engaging in a bloody fight. When they paused out of breath to rest, they saw vultures and ravens circling in the sky. The vultures were waiting impatiently to eat the carcass of whoever died in the fight.
The lion said to the boar "Rather than becoming food for vultures, let us stop fighting, share the water and become friends." Those who break each other due to small conflicts of interest play into the hands of ambushed enemies. Internal conflicts and unnecessary fights lay the ground for third parties and enemies to prevail. Realizing the common threat and securing internal peace is a wise step that saves from destruction.
A fight between two sides makes food for third parties. Internal fight makes the enemy rejoice. A fight made in anger brings disaster. A common threat builds friendship.
Do not break each other for small interest. Wisdom turns conflict into peace. Living together is surviving.
