The Lion and the Legendary Beast
Once upon a time, in an enchanted kingdom where silver rivers flowed sparkling, there lived the Lion, King of the Forests, and the Beast with the silver horn. The silver crown of the immense kingdom deep in the forest had for years been a matter of pride between these two majestic rivals. When the Lion roared the sky trembled, and when the Beast shook its silver horn even the leaves bowed with respect. Both of them wanted to be the only master of this magnificent domain, and they competed with each other with a greed that never wore out. The forest folk watched this endless quarrel with anxious but equally curious eyes. On a mild spring morning, under the whispering trees, the two proud rivals came face to face once again. Bristling his mane, the Lion cried out, "I am the only owner of this crown, you will bow down!"
The Beast held its silver horn up towards the sun and answered, "True beauty and strength are in me, the crown is my right!" All day long they fought mercilessly in the middle of the meadow, and dust and smoke mingled together. The wise old confectioner of the forest brought them freshly baked breads and delicious buns to calm the quarrel. Both of them stopped for a while and filled their bellies, but as soon as they were full their eyes met again with greed. "Eating bread is not enough, the only lord of this domain must be chosen!" roared the Lion. The Beast neighed proudly and went on with its challenge. The conflict lasted for hours; neither did the Lion give up nor did the Beast step back.
In the end both of them collapsed from exhaustion and lost their strength completely. Just at that moment, a sly fox that had been waiting for the chance came and snatched away the ownerless silver crown. While the two proud creatures lay stretched on the ground, worn out, they watched helplessly as the crown vanished before their eyes. At that moment they understood that the merciless effort they had spent in vain had brought them only weariness and loss. The Lion and the Beast burned with deep regret at having lost the pearl of the kingdom to another because of a senseless rivalry. From that day on the two majestic friends decided to share not the crown but friendship and peace. Blind rivalry born of greed makes a person lose the most precious treasures in their hands. Two rivals cannot share the same roof.
