The Lion and the Archer
A proud lion relying on his strength was wandering in the mountains telling everyone he met that he wanted to fight a human. One day on a mountain road he met a master archer with his bow and quiver in hand. While the lion was preparing to attack the archer, the archer drew his bow and drove a sharp arrow into the lion's side. When the lion roaring with pain got wounded and began to flee, the fox beside him said "Why are you fleeing, turn back immediately and fight the man."
The lion said to the fox "When even the arrow sent as the man's messenger is so burning and wounding, who knows what the owner himself will do!" and continued to flee. Attacking blindly against opponents with effective weapons from a long distance and superior technology is a disaster. Accurately weighing the enemy's strength and sensing the main owner's power from his messenger's strength is wisdom. Imprudent courage is condemned to defeat in the face of superior ranged powers.
Attacking directly against ranged and powerful weapons is foolishness. One must weigh the enemy's strength in advance. Blind attack brings disaster. Precaution is essential against superior weapons.
The messenger's strength shows the owner. A wise creature senses danger in advance. Imprudent courage brings destruction.
