The Kid on the Roof and the Wolf
A little goat climbed onto a high roof. Fresh green grass and warm sun were up there. The goat jumped happily on the roof. Happily it looked at the village and the roads. Just then a big hungry wolf came by.
Near the house the wolf looked for food. The goat felt safe, because the roof was high. The goat shouted and laughed at the wolf. "Hey, bad wolf, you can never catch me!" it said. The wolf stopped and looked up at him.
The wolf was not angry and spoke calmly. "You do not insult me, the high roof does," he said. These words made the goat ashamed and quiet. A safe place does not make you brave. Every cock is brave on his own dunghill.
