The Jay and the Fox
One day a hungry jay flew over the forest. It looked for sweet food among the trees. It came to a big fig tree. Green and hard figs hung on the tree. The jay wanted to eat them right away.
It waited on the branch for sweet figs. Days passed, but the figs never grew. A clever fox came by and saw the jay. The fox stood under the tree and looked up. The fox asked, "Why do you wait here hungry?"
The jay said, "I will eat the ripe figs." The fox laughed and said, "Waiting fills no stomach." The jay saw its lost days and felt sad. We must not lose time on empty dreams. Empty words fill no stomach.
