The Jackdaw and the Crows
One day a little jackdaw flew in the forest. In a field it saw happy, fat crows. These crows ate tasty food every day. The jackdaw wanted to live like them. It painted its feathers black and joined them.
The crows thought it was a new friend. The little jackdaw ate with them every day. But one day it called in its own voice. The crows knew it was not a crow. The crows got angry and drove it away.
The sad jackdaw wanted to return to its friends. But its old friends did not like black feathers. They did not take the jackdaw back. The little jackdaw was alone and understood its mistake. Being yourself and living honestly is always best. Be what you seem, or seem what you are.
