The Ill-Natured Man
A cunning and bad man lived on a small mountain near the city. The man wanted to set a trap for the wise old man of the village. He wanted to prove one thing: the wise man did not know everything. In the bushes he caught a small bird. He hid the bird in his hand. He put his hand behind his back and walked to the wise man. In his head he made a sly plan.
The man stopped in front of the wise man. He asked: "Is the bird in my hand alive or dead?" At the answer "dead" he wanted to open his hand. At the answer "alive" he wanted to kill the little bird. With this sly question he wanted to shame the wise man.
The wise man looked at the bad man and smiled. He answered: "The life of that bird is in your hands." "You can save it, you can kill it," he said. The bad man understood: his cunning was useless. He calmly opened his hand and freed the bird.
Everybody saw it: a bad trap brings nothing.
