The Hungry Bear
Once upon a time, lovely animals lived in the heart of a deep forest where golden yellow leaves were falling. In this peaceful forest there was a huge bear who woke from a long winter sleep. He was so hungry that the ground truly trembled with a rumble at every step he took. The birds in the forest fell silent with fear, and the small creatures among the bushes hid at once in their nests. With his loud stomach rumbling, the bear began to look around for food. As he walked along his path, he met a cheerful rabbit carrying fresh carrots in its arms.
With his booming voice the bear roared, “Give me those carrots at once, or I will swallow you in one bite!” Trembling with fear, the rabbit left the carrots in front of the giant foot and hurried away. But a few carrots were not enough to calm the huge bear's hunger. Just then a cunning fox slipped out from among the bushes. When the fox saw the bear's angry mood, it decided to make a clever plan. “Dear friend, do not waste time with small snacks that will not satisfy you,” said the fox.
“In the hollow of the old oak tree ahead there is a huge honeycomb.” The bear, his eyes shining with greed, followed the fox and walked toward the tree with quick steps. Climbing the oak tree with his enormous body, the bear ignored the warning of the bees and pushed his paw into the hollow. The angry swarm of bees flew out in a moment and swarmed over the bear's nose and ears. Shouting in desperation, the bear fell from the tree and caught his breath in the waters of the cool river nearby. Swollen all over because of his greed, the bear had to learn to be patient and to stay calm. Those who act with greed and anger meet a bitter experience while looking for a sweet taste. Anger harms the angry one the most.
