The Hen that Laid the Golden Eggs
A poor man lived in a small village. The man had only one hen. Every day the hen laid a golden egg. Each morning he sold the egg at the market. Soon the poor man had a little money.
But the man was greedy and impatient. He thought, "There is a lot of gold inside." He wanted all the gold and quick riches. One day he took a knife to the coop.
He cut the hen open, but he found no gold. It was only an ordinary hen. He saw his big mistake, but it was too late. Now he had no hen and no golden eggs.
Greedy people lose their own good things too. Grasp all, lose all.
