The Hare and the Fox
A cunning fox glided next to a hare and invited him to a delicious dinner in his cave. The fox said "My dear friend, let us end the enmity between us, come let us feast in my cave tonight." The hare pretended to accept the fox's offer and approached up to the entrance of the lair. The hare stopped at the door of the cave, wrinkled his nose, and said "Wonderfully cooking hare meat smells are coming from your lair, but am I at the table as a guest or as the meal?" and fled.
Overly intimate and sweet invitations coming suddenly from natural enemies hold great traps in the background. Those who fall for the enemy's fake smiles and friendship displays walk into the trap with their own feet. Sensing danger in advance and not letting go of precautions is the survival rule of wise creatures. Fake friendship offers are the cover for disaster.
One must be alert against the enemy's fake friendship invitations. Do not fall for sweet words immediately. An enemy does not become a friend. One who senses danger escapes.
A fake smile screens a trap. Precaution saves lives. Being alert prevents disaster.
