The Gnat and the Bull
A big strong bull rested on the sunny green grass. Just then a little mosquito flew a long time in the air. The mosquito got very tired and sat on the bull's horn. It sat there quietly for a long time and rested. The mosquito felt like a very important and heavy guest.
After a while it moved its wings to go away. It spoke to the bull with a proud voice. "Excuse me, sir, I sat long on your horn and made you tired," it said. "Now I am going away, so you can rest well," it added. The big bull slowly turned his head and looked at the little mosquito.
The bull took a deep breath and laughed. "I did not even notice your arrival," he said. "So your going away is not important to me," he answered. A very proud person can look small to other people. An empty drum makes the loudest noise.
