The Fox and the Stork
Once upon a time, at the edge of an old forest where cool waters flowed, lived a sly fox. This fox wanted to be friends with his neighbor, the long-legged and gracefully gliding stork. On a sunny spring morning, the fox invited the stork to his home for a delicious lunch. The polite stork gladly accepted this sweet invitation and excitedly set off toward the fox's home. The fragrant nest deep in the forest was filled with cheerful bird songs and a warm wind.
The sly fox poured the soup he had prepared in the kitchen into very flat and wide plates. The stork touched his long beak to the plate, but could not drink even a single drop of soup. The fox, on the other hand, quickly finished the soup by lapping it with his wide tongue and smiled at his neighbor. Asking whether he liked the soup, the fox secretly amused himself with the stork's staying hungry. The polite stork didn't say a word, but decided to teach the fox an unforgettable lesson. The next day, the stork invited the fox to his own spacious home for dinner.
The greedy fox went to the stork's home with joy, imagining the smell of delicious food. The stork placed the delicious meat dish he prepared into narrow and long-necked pitchers. The stork reached inside the thin pitcher comfortably with his long beak and began to enjoy his meal. The fox, however, failed to insert his pointed snout into the narrow mouth of the pitcher. Remaining hungry, the fox contented himself with just licking the outer plate and understood his mistake with sadness. Becoming a victim of his own cunning, the fox bowed his head in shame and walked away. From that day on, the fox completely learned that he should not be unfair to anyone.
We must never forget that the traps we set for others will one day confront ourselves. As you sow, so shall you reap.
