The Fox and the Crow
One day a black crow found a big cheese. The crow took it and flew to a tree. There it wanted to eat the cheese quietly. Just then a clever fox walked under the tree. The fox saw the tasty cheese and felt hungry.
He quickly made a smart plan to get it. He came under the tree and looked up happily. The fox said, "Hello, pretty crow, you look elegant!" "Your feathers shine, and your voice must be beautiful." "Please sing a nice song for me," he added.
The crow heard these sweet words and felt happy. It opened its beak wide to sing a song. At once the tasty cheese fell to the ground. The clever fox grabbed the cheese and ran away. The crow understood its big mistake, but too late. We must not believe every sweet word. It is no use crying over spilt milk.
