The Flea and the Ox
Long ago, beside an old forest where cool waters flowed, there stood a green farm. On this beautiful farm lived a very strong and huge ox. The strong ox worked patiently every day and ploughed the fields with joy. On its back hid a very small but clever flea. The little flea boasted because it lived a comfortable life without working at all.
One day, the flea slowly approached the giant ox's ear. "You are so big and strong, why do you serve humans?" it asked. "I am very small, but I never listen to humans and I bite them," it said. Upon hearing these words, the ox slowly shook its head and smiled. "Humans give me fresh grass and clean water every day," it said. "They also stroke my head with love and always protect me," it added. Surprised to hear this answer, the flea laughed out loud.
"But that soft hand of theirs is a great danger for me!" it said. "If they catch me, they will crush and destroy me immediately," it shouted. Looking at the foolish flea, the ox calmly continued speaking. "Creatures that experience kindness bond with humans with loyalty and love," it said. "As for you, because you only cause harm, you will always live in fear," it added.
Just then, the farmer came over to the ox and stroked its back. Terrified, the little flea immediately jumped to the ground and vanished among the bushes. Kindness and effort always bring love, while those who cause harm remain alone. Good deed brings good return.
