The Fighting Roosters
Long ago, two brave roosters who wanted to be the leader of the coop began to fight mercilessly. After a long and tough struggle, one of the roosters was defeated and retreated to a corner. The defeated rooster hid in a dark corner in shame and began waiting silently. The victorious rooster proudly climbed onto a high wall.
The winning rooster flapped his wings, began crowing loudly, and proclaimed his victory. A hungry eagle soaring in the sky heard the voice of this proud rooster. The eagle immediately swooped down, seized the victorious rooster on the wall, and carried him away. The defeated rooster hiding in his corner escaped danger and became the new leader of the coop.
When victory is won, one must be humble and not succumb to pride. Untimely and excessive boasting drags a person into unexpected disasters. Do not be proud, there is someone greater than you. Pride makes a person small. Pride goes before a fall. He who boasts much makes many mistakes.
He who boasts falls quickly. Humility is the greatest virtue. The end of pride is disaster. Success is crowned with humility. Arrogance blinds a person.
