The Eagle Who Was Once a Man

Once upon a time, a brave hunter lived in the high mountains beyond deep valleys. This man watched the free birds in the sky and dreamed of gliding like them. The wise guardian of the forest heard this sincere desire of the man and decided to give him a chance. The guardian fairy offered the man to leave his human body and become a proud eagle. Burning with the love of freedom, the man accepted this magical offer without thinking twice.

Transforming into a sharp-eyed giant eagle, the man joyfully flapped his wings into the endless sky. Flying alone on the peaks, he never forgot the old human feelings he carried in his heart. On a cold winter day, he heard the crying of a little child who was lost on the mountain road. The fire of compassion in his heart flared anew, and he immediately glided down next to the child. He whispered to the child, "Fear not little friend, I will save you from this storm." Gently taking the child's hat, he flew toward the village to attract the attention of the villagers.

When the villagers saw the majestic eagle carrying the hat, they experienced great amazement. Following the persistent signals of the eagle, the villagers immediately ran toward the mountain slope. Thanks to the eagle, the villagers managed to safely find the lost child before the storm hit. Taking her child into her arms, the mother looked at the guardian eagle in the sky with eyes full of gratitude. The eagle transformed from a human took a magnificent turn in the sky with the pride of protecting his loved ones. Even if he changed his body, he proved to everyone that he never lost the loving human spirit within him.

Even if our appearance changes, the feeling of goodness and compassion in our hearts always stays with us. Do good and throw it into the sea; if the fish doesn't know it, God will.
