The Eagle and the Crow
An eagle swooping from a mountain peak seized a lamb and soared into the sky. A vain crow watching from a branch thought he could do the exact same thing. Eyeing a huge ram in the field, the crow dove with a loud noise onto the ram's back. However, his claws got tangled in the ram's thick wool, getting stuck deeper as he struggled.
No matter how hard the crow flapped his wings, he could not take flight. The shepherd came and easily caught the crow, clipping his wings to give to his children. When the children asked "What bird is this?", the shepherd replied "A crow that mistook itself for an eagle." The crow paid a heavy price for not knowing his limits and attempting tasks beyond his reach.
Attempting tasks beyond your strength leads to ridicule. Do not bite off more than you can chew. Whoever forgets their limits meets disaster. Excessive pride brings ruin.
Everyone should act according to their stature. A weaver cannot act like a king. Stretch your feet according to your blanket.
