The Dove and the Crow
Long ago, a sweet dove nest stood in a flowery garden. In that warm nest the doves ate tasty wheat every day. A clever crow lived in a tall oak tree. The crow watched their easy, sweet life with envy. He also wanted that tasty wheat without any work. One day a sly plan came into his head. He covered his black feathers with white paint.
He flew quietly to the nest and joined the doves. The doves thought he was a new dove and shared food. For days the crow ate that fine food with great joy. But one day his happiness made him forget himself. Suddenly, next to the doves, he cawed very loudly. The surprised doves saw at once that he was a crow. The angry doves pecked him and threw him out.
The hungry crow went back to his old crow friends. But the other crows did not know this white bird. They saw a stranger and chased him out of the forest. The crow lost his new food and his old home. In the end he stayed alone, cold and hungry. A person who tries to look different loses his own peace. Grasp all, lose all.
