The Donkey's Curiosity
Once upon a time, at the edge of an old forest where cool waters flowed, lived a very curious donkey with huge ears. This donkey wanted to learn what everyone in the village was doing and took great pleasure in poking his nose into everyone's business. On one of the hottest days of summer, the rich farmer of the village hosted a secret party in his large mansion in the garden. The velvet curtains of the windows were tightly drawn, and locks were put on the doors. Passing by the street, the curious donkey slowed his steps when he heard the sweet music coming from inside.
Set on seeing what was going on inside, the donkey quietly approached the back wall of the mansion. His eyes sparkled when he noticed a small ventilation window positioned high up. Climbing the stones on the wall, the donkey stretched his long neck upward with difficulty. With great effort, he managed to stick his huge head inside through the narrow window. In the hall, there were fancy tables, delicious fruits, and people dancing joyfully. However, unable to withstand the donkey's weight, the flowerpot on the windowsill fell to the ground with a loud crash.
The farmer suddenly raised his head and saw the long ears and surprised eyes in the window. "What is this impudent animal doing here!" shouted the host angrily. Not knowing what to do out of fear, the donkey tried to pull his head back from the window, but his ears got stuck in the narrow gap. The host ran to the window with the stick in his hand and hit the curious donkey's nose hard. As the donkey pulled back desperately, he lost his balance and rolled onto the dusty ground.
The poor animal, whose ears were aching and bruised all over, understood the magnitude of his mistake. Standing on his hind legs and braying painfully, he moved away from there. From that day on, he never dared to poke his nose into anyone's private business again. Unnecessary curiosity brings only shame and pain to its owner. Curiosity killed the cat.
