The Dog and the Hare
A hunting dog began playing strangely with a hare he caught in the field. One moment the dog bit the hare sharply with his sharp teeth, and immediately after licked his fur with affection. Overwhelmed by this inconsistent and uncertain behavior, the hare told the dog to stop. The hare said "If you are my friend stop biting me, if you are my enemy stop licking me; show clearly who you are."
Humans want to know clearly what people in front of them think and how they feel. Hypocritical people acting like a friend one day and an enemy another day spread only distrust and unease around them. A clear stance is always more valuable than fake affection displays and inconsistent attention. An honest and decisive attitude is the cornerstone of human relationships.
One must be clear and honest rather than acting hypocritically. Inconsistent behavior creates distrust. The condition of friendship is clarity. Fake affection is deception.
An open enemy is better than a hidden friend. An honest stance brings respect. Put forth clearly what you are.
