The Coward and the Golden Lion
Long ago a fearful, greedy man lived. He loved gold but feared everything. One day he walked up a mountain. Something very bright shone among the trees. It was a big lion of gold.
The man saw the lion and smiled. But the lion looked real and alive. He feared the lion and its teeth. He wanted the gold but stayed away. At last he ran to the village.
He told everyone about the golden lion. Everyone ran, but the lion was gone. A brave man carried the lion away. The man lost the gold and cried. Fear took the golden lion from him. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
